%X The genus Schiffneria Steph. was founded in 1894 by F. Stephani. A new species&mdash;&mdash;<em>Schiffneria yunnanensis</em> C. Gao &amp; W. Li sp. nov. was found during our studying on Chinese specimen. The gametophyte of <em>Schiffneria</em> is thalloid, the inflorescence shoot shows ancestral characters, so it should be put in the Pallaviciniales belonging to Jungermanniideae.
