%X <em>Asplenium ritoense</em> Hayata (Aspleniaceae) is recorded for the first time from Hainan Island. This species in most Chinese taxonomic literature is named as <em>Asplenium davallioides</em> Hook., which is an illegitimate name. The nomenclature of this species ought be rectified.
